You're right, it shouldn't be up to someone else to decide what I do with my body. And yet, you endorse conservatives telling me what I can and can't do with my reproductive parts. You can't have it both ways, Amy.
I came across your site and I was listening to take on the current political landscape. I am a Moderate myself so I enjoy hearing perspectives from both sides. In this case, I agree with your views on Mayor Bloomberg. Surely a Harvard Business School graduate and the 11th richest person on the planet ($22 billion estimated) has better things to do for his city than to tell people what they should do with their bodies.
On the other hand, would you agree that Republican Congressman Trent Franks of Arizona is doing the same thing with the 20 week abortion ban in Washington, DC? Moreover, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell declared that the GOP would do everything it could to see that President Obama would only have one term. A lot of Americans, even conservative leaning people like myself, have been hurt by GOP obstructionism.
I agree with you regarding Bloomberg's social mandates - and I am as progressive as they come. The issue is not progressivism versus conservatism because pushy, self-righteous politicians exist on both sides of the aisle.
You are a true master of the quill! This reading was the so absorbing!Write more and thank you!
Agreed! Abortion is not a winning issue and it never will be no more than contraception is. Dems are focusing a too many small issues that really don't matter to the majority who want debt solutions as well as real growth. Most of the growth has been natural industry hiring and growth based on demand. Obama doesn't get that.
Obama has divided this nation and now they only have anger, hate and social quibbles as a platform for 2012. Its almost an insult to Jimmy Carter to say Obama is Jimmy Carter 2.0 but it works because neither cared to listen to "We the People". Even worse, dems always say "trust us", "listen to us" and we did and look where we are today.
If you disagree, denial is your coping mechanism. And the Nile is a river in Egypt and Obama can't paddle up river fast enough to save his career nor this country.
